Wasserstraßenkreuz Minden (handcrafted bridges and terrain fixes) v0.5
Hello, today I fixed something a little closer to where I live, the “Wasserstraßenkreuz” in Minden, Germany. It’s a bridge for the Mittellandkanal (Midland Canal) to cross the Weser river. Rather impressive in real life
Custom models (lightwight and properly LODed) and many terrain fixes to repair the holes and steps the waters have around this place in the vanilla sim, see the screenshot for how much I have done for now.
Small caveat: The sim can’t do “free floating water”, it has to be on “rock pedestals”, so the bridges aren’t allowed to be real bridges with true openings underneath, but I vastly prefer this to making them true bridges with fake water on top which will never blend in with the real water.
I’ll probably model the buildings of the Pumpwerk and of the Schaftschleuse too and bring those in an update some day. First I’d like some feedback, as how the thing represents in the sim depends a lot on personal settings too.
No dependencies.
